The latest technology in commercial heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems rolled into Charlotte this week as part of Tranes Acceleration Now tour across America.
Two tractor trailers carrying $3 million worth of systems and product displays set up shop at Tranes South Tryon Street office, and the public was invited to take a look. Trane officials said the products, which included a large, quiet chiller unit, will visit 70 communities nationwide in 39 weeks.
Trane officials said they hope to show how certain energy conservation measures can help organizations and businesses increase energy and operational efficiency.
Trane is part of Ingersoll Rand, the Ireland-based industrial technology firm which has its North American headquarters in Davidson. Company officials said the products on the tour werent made in Charlotte, however.
Ingersoll Rand, a $14 billion global company, employs nearly 1,400 people at its Davidson offices.
After its Charlotte stop, the Trane tour was slated to head up the East Coast and on to the Midwest.
